Your public Echo contains a mood, an activity, your optional text, creation time and an approximate region. The app stores only a 2-degree region centre, not your precise map selection. Near the poles, longitude regions can still be geographically narrow; this is approximate location, not a guarantee against inference.
When Live is connected, Send Echo publishes under your signed-in anonymous or Google-linked account and keeps a copy in this browser. Device-only drafts are private. Older local-only journal entries are not automatically uploaded. Without a configured Live service, Save on this device stays local and is not a public Echo.
Other people cannot see your account ID, email, Google name or profile photo. Supabase Auth processes the information needed to sign you in. An anonymous account is still technically identifiable by the service to enforce limits. Do not include identifying details in your text.
Symbolic reactions are available to anonymous accounts. Public text comments and text support require a Google-linked account and are limited. Private chat requires a permanent sign-in and the recipient’s acceptance. Only participants can read it through the app. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted: authorized service administrators can access database records for operation and abuse review.
Only the latest mood of each account is active on the public map and in statistics. It leaves the public map when replaced or after 24 hours. Owners can read their previous Echoes and comments until the retention cleanup removes them. Statistics count accounts, not verified unique people; anonymous accounts may be recreated. Operators should purge expired Echoes after 7 days and closed chats 30 days after closure, as documented in the deployment guide. Account restrictions, blocks and abuse reports are retained for moderation. These retention jobs must be enabled by the operator before public launch.
Use Report for abuse and Block to stop contact. Leaving an anonymous browser session may make it unrecoverable; link Google before signing out if you want to keep access. Linking an existing Google account can require operator assistance; the app does not discard or silently merge accounts.
